On the heels of the success of “BlackCard”, Pete Chatmon and Candice Sanchez McFarlane teamed up for their second feature script, “What About Us?”, a mockumentary about a fictitious town that receives slave reparations…
As we always do, we held a screenplay reading after locking the script to bring the words off the page and the characters to life. Below, you can hear the opening remarks and meet the talented actors that contributed to the reading:

PROJECT STATUS:
We are in the midst of budgeting out the script with the plan to shoot the film this summer, leaving enough time to complete the edit and submit to the Sundance Film Festival. WE WILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO MAKE THIS FILM a reality and ask you to stay tuned for more updates and information as to how you can get involved!
A LITTLE BIT OF TRIVIA:
For those that remember, this project was mentioned in Pete’s debut feature “Premium”, back in 2005, so it’s been a long time coming but something that is designed to spark an important conversation about wealth, community, and race in this country.
More to come!
Was that the film that they were casting for in Premium? Either way, keep pushing. It’s a good look. Watched Blackcard on HBO NOW or another HBO channel. looks good. Like the premise. good actors and editing.
Actually it might’ve been Showtime.
